Rig Life Privacy Policy

Effective date: 12 October 2026

Rig Life is a game published by Gremlin Garage ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information is handled when you play Rig Life on Android.

The short version

No account and no sign-in. Your progress is saved on your phone and never sent to us. The game shows ads from Google AdMob, and purchases are handled by Google Play.

Information stored on your device

Your progress (cash, upgrades, crew, cosmetics, settings and achievements) is saved in the app's private storage on your phone. It never leaves your device unless you copy your save code yourself with Settings › Export save. We do not collect your name, email or precise location.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Rig Life uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to show optional rewarded ads and occasional short ads. When an ad is requested, Google may collect and process device identifiers (including the Android advertising ID), your IP address (used to estimate approximate location), device and app information, ad interactions and diagnostic data. Google uses this to deliver, measure and, where you agree, personalise ads, and to prevent fraud.

In the UK, EEA and Switzerland we ask for your consent with Google's consent message when you first play, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings. Buying Remove Ads stops ads being shown. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

In-app purchases

Optional purchases (such as Remove Ads, boosts and cosmetic skins) are processed entirely by Google Play under Google's terms. We never receive your payment details, name or email. Google provides a purchase confirmation so the game can unlock your item.

Notifications

If you allow them, the game schedules reminders on your phone (for example "storm incoming", "crew change" or "free supply drop ready"). They are created on the device itself; no push service or identifier is used. Turn them off in Settings or in Android settings.

What we don't do

Rig Life does not include our own analytics or crash-reporting tools, we don't sell personal data, and the game doesn't access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera or precise location.

Feedback you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you send. We use it only to reply and to fix problems, and we delete it when it is no longer needed.

Children

Rig Life is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Legal basis

Under UK and EU GDPR, personalised advertising relies on your consent. Non-personalised advertising and fraud prevention rely on our legitimate interest in funding a free game. Handling purchases is necessary to provide what you bought.

Data retention and deletion

Because your progress is stored only on your device, Settings › Reset save, clearing the app's data or uninstalling deletes it. Feedback emails are kept only as long as needed to help you, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the UK and EU), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its use. Apart from feedback emails we do not hold personal data about you; for ad data, Google is best placed to help, and we'll point you the right way. In the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Our website

Votes, sign-ups and feedback forms on our website are covered by the website privacy page.

Changes

If this policy changes, for example if we add cloud saves, accounts or analytics, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and the Google Play data safety information will be updated to match.
